Vincent Patrick Payne, 94, a Pointe
Au Baril resident for the past 45 years, passed away
on Saturday, May 7th, 2005 after a brief illness.
Vince founded Payne Marine in 1961 with his son Mike.
Vince was a watch and clock maker in Toronto for many
years before venturing north to start what is now
Payne Marine. Vince was introduced to the beautiful
area some years before and had a cottage here for
many years before selling it and then getting into
the marine business. Vince was in the Royal Canadian
Air Force during the Second World War and was a bombing
instructor.
He will be very sadly missed but
never forgotten by all his friends, customers and
family. May he rest in peace and be forever in our
hearts.
